VBS Online Registration

vbs registerJourney Off the Map is just around the Corner!

It is time to register your child for VBS. This year VBS at Royal Haven Baptist Church will run from June 24th – 26th. Each night it will begin at 6:30pm and end at 8:30.  For 2015 we will be transforming Royal Haven into a jungle for Journey Off the Map by Lifeway. We will offer age appropriate adventures for all kids Kindergarten – 6th grade. We will also have engaging classes for parents in both english and spanish. So don’t just drop off your kids… stay and share in the adventure. When you pre-register online, it does several things. It helps us to havee materials waiting for your child as well as a t-shirt in their size. Registering online also saves you time NOT standing in line when you bring your child.
This year VBS is bigger and better than ever. We are already praying for your family.

Go To Church Anywhere

sermonappIf you are online, you can worship at Royal Haven Baptist Church. Maybe you are on vacation, at home, or have even moved away, but as long as you can get online with a smartphone, tablet, or computer, you can join us LIVE every Sunday morning at 10:45 CST for our morning worship service.

You can also watch past sermons in our ever growing library of video recorded services.

All you need to do is go to the appropriate app store for your device and download the app called Sunday Streams. Once you have it installed on your device type in the code RHBC and expect to be blessed.

The app also has a feature that allows you to open up an online bible while you watch. So if you happen to be stuck in an airport like Pastor Rick recently was, you can still join us in worship and God’s word. You should soon be able to send in prayer requests live and have that request passed on to the Pastor in real time, so that He can pray for you.

Make sure that you are on a wifi connection if possible because streaming video uses more data than normal use and your data plan will be used according to your specific provider’s plan.

Dance In the Rain

danceinrainIt’s 6:00 am , Sunday morning, Carol and I are sitting in the San Antonio airport on our way home to get dressed for church. We have already boarded the plane and because of weather been  instructed to return now to the terminal that is now filled with people who have also be asked to deplane from all the other delayed flights.  It was difficult for us to find two seats together cause it seems like nobody wants to sit next to anyone else.
We found a place thinking in a few minutes we will board again and be on our way.

Its For You…

“Faithful iits for you2s He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.”
1 Thessalonians 5:24

“Faithful is He..”  This is a solid promise that God is faithful.  It is open ended so that means He is faithful in everything, not just this or that.  Every good thing, bad thing, every thing, God is faithful.  He is in charge of it all.  We may get the immediate “Praise God” hit on the good stuff, or we may get the “What is going on” hit when it is bad stuff.  Still God is Faithful.  And through His faithfulness, what has He done?  Look at the next part.

Prayer Begins With…The Kingdom of God

NDP_2015Theme-Content_403x403_1.00Allow God to lead you to pray for others in the church and their needs, national and local situations, the government, the advance of the Kingdom of God, and the growth of the Church. God is looking for people who will stand in the gap with Him in intercession for situations that are beyond their own personal interests. “I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none” (Ezekiel 22:30). Make God’s interests your interests.

Relational Outreach

relatioalThe message that I feel ringing out with such a clarion call this morning is that we need to make sure that in the midst of all this technological phenomenon we don’t miss the undeniable responsibility to relationally reach out to a world that is so self-absorbed they are missing the truth of the good news of Jesus Christ.

Its amazing to me that the social network of the first century church seemed to do ok as you see the spread of the gospel literally change the world….one person at a time.

It is the truth about this love that Jesus has for us that truly can change things…..and it causes us to serve.

Productive Parenting

Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭22‬:‭6‬ NKJV)
How many of us have stood on the truth of this verse, during the toughest times of parenting.
There is no promise in this verse that kids will not sow “wild oats”.
The promise is that if they have been trained in Godly ways …they will return to God.
The most unfortunate thing that I see in our society today is children growing up without the influence of Godly training.

Spring Flings for the 39er’s

Bluebonnet-FencepostSpring is here!  It is so exciting to see new life coming forth.  As we celebrated Resurrection Sunday, it was such a wonderful reminder that God has provided us a wonderful hope in the resurrection of our Lord and Savior.
As we look at April, there are two possible events the 39R’s are planning.  One is the annual trip to see God’s handiwork of beautiful bluebonnets.  The other is the opportunity to praise our Lord at the annual Norvell Slater Senior Adult Hymn Sing at Dallas Baptist University.
