The Anointing Needed for the Culture Clash

Recently I have been consumed with leading Royal Haven to be successful in the eyes of Jesus.  Most people make sure they do important things in their final days of living; Jesus did that.

I was reading about Jesus’ final hours in Gethsemane and something jumped out that I had never seen.  Jesus got up from praying four times to check on his disciples.  Three times he stirred them to get ready for the ordeal, and the fourth time he came to tell them it was time to face the crisis.  This was His hour of darkness, He was about to face the fight of His life.  The full weight of man’s wickedness and sin was beginning to fall on His shoulders, and he was facing the sacrifice of his life for ours.  In the midst of this agonizing transaction, he got up three times to check on His little flock – the future of mankind.  These disciples represented something that he needed to keep in His mind.

Hebrews 12:2 reads, “For the joy set before Him, He endured the cross”.

Our redemption was His joy.  As He checked on them, He found strength to press in and complete the task.

I believe with all my heart that Royal Haven has a divine assignment to prepare the next generation of leadership to face the coming culture clash.  As the culture becomes more hostile, Jesus’ disciples need to be prepared to stand up under the pressure.  We must be rock solid in our identity.  We must know what we believe, and why we believe it.  Royal Haven must be the light in a diversity of culture.  We must actively pursue helping people who do not belong anywhere to belong to our church and enter the “kingdom”.  We must create an environment that is loving, accepting, caring, and instructional.

Regardless of where people are in life we must be a…

  • Haven for the wandering soul…
  • Hospital for the sin sick….
  • Safe harbor for the storm tossed victims…
  • Hope for a generation that has no hope…
  • Academy for those who are willing to fight the fight, retake the ground the devil has stolen, and reclaim the finances that keep people in poverty.
This is all possible as we receive the anointing of the Holy Spirit, and “teach them to observe all things, whatsoever I have commanded you”.  Jesus is pleased when we do this.

Until the nets are full…

As Christians we all are called to share the Gospel, and each one of us as individual members of the body of Christ have been given at least one Spiritual Gift to be used in building up and or serving others in His Body, may we pray and seek to know our gifts and use them to the Glory of God.
